Not many luxury hotels can lay claim to being an old sea fort built in the 1800s. But then Spitbank Fort, off the coast of Portsmouth, isn't any old hotel – since being decommissioned, it's been creatively restored to a pimping hotel.
Only accessible by boat, the hotel is about as exclusive as an old concrete enclosure is going to get. There are nine well-decked out bedrooms, a rooftop hot tub, a wine cellar and a firepit with views over to the Isle of Wight. We want somebody to have a party there now, please.
