The basics
Why wouldn't you party next to a lake if you could? If there's a lake near you, party next to it – you're an actual nutcase if you don't.
That's the outlook that Balaton Sound have, because there's a lake near them (in Hungary), and so they party next to it. And on it. Every year.
The festival
The cream of the crop of electronic music also like partying next to (and on) a lake, because they also descend upon Lake Balaton each year, to provide the best musical backdrop to all the water-based shenanigans kicking off about the place.
Balaton Sound transforms a little village called Zamardi into a big k'off party arena, with around 10,000 dance-heads going mental on the beach (and beyond) for four days.
It's the perfect setting for a chilled-out day in the sun, before things gwarn a bit more nutty in the evening.
Our tip
Bring your Speedos, because there's a lake, remember.
Also, nobody wants to see your ugly, sand-caked willy flapping about in the wind.
