The basics
The sounds and lifestyle of America's Deep South. But in Suffolk.
The festival
Yeeeee-hah. Get the lassoo. Kick your spurs up. Brand the cow. These are the sort of sentences you might hear at Red Rooster, a celebration of old-school R&B, blues and Americana in sunny (maybe) Suffolk. Food plays just as big a part of Red Rooster festival, with some of the UK's best food vendors bringing southern style to the party. This year, expect vegan junk food from Club Mexicana, hangover-curing brunches at The Breakfast Club and tons of smoky, meaty BBQ joints, plus gumbo. Lots of it.
Oh, mister, you's giving me the vapours.
What's more, there's plenty on offer for the kids (if you're not leaving them with Ma and Pa), with open cornfields, shady woodlands and a 'gator lake. Hopefully there aren't any real alligators, but if the kids start acting up you can at least tell them there are to keep them quiet.
Our tip
The human body doesn't digest corn well. That's why you see it in turds. Be careful not to overdo it on the corn.
