The basics
Chilly, but also cool...
The festival
Every year the good people of Træna (which we think rhymes with legendary Latino singer Gloria Gaynor) get together to do a festival. Sweet as a nut, sweet like Tropicana.
A tiny island municipality, Traena offers music lovers the chance to see some lovely music amidst beautiful surroundings without overflowing toilets and lots of sweaty people. Of course, you're welcome to dance your tits off if you like, but you might look a little out of place. And you're on an island. With nowhere to hide!
Our tip
Norway is really really far north, especially this bit of it. Take at least one jumper.

Getting there
How do I get there?
The only way to get to Træna is by boat. The festival always book extra boats so you can make a reservation for a boat ticket and be sure to get there and back home again. Although there might be a limitation on boats from Træna to Bodø on Sunday the 13th! Please check boats before you book your flight. Click here to book your boat ticket.
Flight and train alternatives: From Mo i Rana (with a bus connection at Stokkvågen), you can take the train in Mo, Sandnessjøen or Mosjøen (take the bus from Sandnessjøen).
The best way is to travel to Bodø by plane – SAS and Norwegian both make several departures daily from Oslo. From Bodø you can take the express boat to Træna. From Sandnessjøen there are several boats to Træna. Note: The airport in Sandnessjøen will be closed during day time from 7AM to 4PM until July 11th.
