The basics
Progressive house and trance, a spectacular light show and a mind-blowing storyline in Prague's O2 Arena
The festival
Architecture? Meh. Culture? Whatevs. Give us a night of lasers powerful enough to make 007's trigger finger itchy, and trance hypnotic enough to have us doing the chicken dance at odd intervals for the next month, and we might consider going to Prague.
Transmission is a semi-religious experience of a night, with Prague's 02 Arena as its cathedral and DJ Markus Schulz as its High Priest. Every year he creates a new official anthem for the show, and ravers are guided through the existential theme's 'journey' by a series of tailor-made visuals and pre-set movies. With fireworks and naked flames also on the agenda, you can expect to truly feel the wrath of God as it scorches your cheeks. Prepare to examine the very fundamentals of your existence, probably while also wondering how you got quite so much glow paint on your party shirt.
Our tip
You may well be tempted to party all night and get straight on the flight home. It's your call, but we have just one warning for you - that way airsickness lies. Are you emotionally prepared to be that unpopular?
