The basics
A series of parties in and around the Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe to welcome the New Year
The festival
Take a 5-hour vintage steam train ride deep into the wilderness of the Victoria Falls National Park, all the way to a secret stage pumping out the best of Sub-Saharan African music. Or if 5 hours is too long for you, you can try a quicker journey - white water rafting and bungee jumping will certainly get you somewhere fast.
The culmination of this festival is the New Years Eve celebration, which boasts a host of African and international artists catering to every musical taste. With punters from around the world, and a family-friendly atmosphere, this is the ultimate in New Year's celebrations. Just make sure you don't anger any lions while you're out there.
Our tip
Seriously, be courteous to the lions. We're not joking.
