The basics
Set in one of Sicily’s most beautiful towns, Ypsigrock combines great views with ever better bands.
The festival
When you think of Sicily you most likely think of the Godfather, pizza and al fresco dining. But there is certainly more to the beautiful Italian island than you first think.
Ypsigrock is one of the most unique festival experiences in Europe. Not only is it set inside the impressive Medieval town of Castelbuono, but Ypsigrock only ever invite bands to play the festival once. Meaning that every year there is a fresh lineup guaranteed to keep you entertained. Giving you the chance to stand in the town’s Piazza Costello while the likes of Kurt Vile, Belle and Sebastian and the Archie Bronson Outfit belt out their festival classics in the shadow of the town’s picturesque castle.
With a varied line up, Ypsigrock focuses on rock and indie and has had the likes of Primal Scream, Alt-J and Mogwai play over recent years.
Our tip
If basking in the mediterranean heat while cooped up in a tent isn’t for you then have a think about renting an apartment for the weekend. Not only will you be a short walk from the festival, but you’ll also have running water, a flushing toilet and warm showers. Not too shabby ‘eh?
