The winner will need to confirm acceptance within 7 days of being notified. If the winner does not confirm acceptance within this timeframe, the promoter has the right to pick another winner.
1. PRIZE DRAW PERIOD
The “Escapism and Air Transat competition” (the “Prize draw”) is organised by Escapism (the “Organiser”) and Air Transat (the “sponsor”). The Prize draw starts on 25 June 2025 at 00:01 GMT (the “Prize draw Opening Date”) and ends 24 July 2025 at 23:59 GMT (the “Prize draw Closing Date”).
2. PRIZE DRAW GROUP
For the purposes of the Prize draw, the “Prize draw group” is composed of the Organiser and the Sponsor, together with franchisees, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers of material and services related to the Prize draw and any other corporation, partnership, sole proprietorship or other legal entity to the benefit of which this Prize draw is held, as well as their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and other representatives.
3. ELIGIBILITY
The Prize draw is open to all individuals who:
Reside in the United Kingdom or Northern Ireland, and
are aged 18 years or over as of Prize draw Opening Date.
4. METHODS OF ENTRY
4.1. There is no purchase necessary to enter the Prize draw. Individuals (the “Entrant” or “Entrants”) may enter during the Prize draw Period using the method outlined below. No entries will be accepted by any other means.
4.2. Entrants must have a valid email address to enter. One entry per email address. Each entrant is responsible for the accuracy of the information included in his/her entry. Multiple entries from the same person will render all entries void.
4.3. The Prize draw entrant in order to be eligible to enter the Prize draw, must complete the entry form and accept the prize draw terms and conditions on https://escapismmagazine.com/competition/win-air-transat-flights/. Limit of one (1) entry per person.
5. PRIZE
In total, there is one (1) grand prize available, consisting of:
Two (2) return flights in Economy Class at the Economy Standard fare from London Gatwick to Toronto or Montreal, or Manchester, Glasgow or Dublin to Toronto, including taxes and surcharges.
6. DRAW
The prize winner (the “Winner”) will be selected using a computer process that produces a verifiably random result. The prize draw will be made on or around 31 August 2025.
7. ODDS OF WINNING
Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received during the Prize draw period.
8. CONDITIONS ATTACHED TO THE PRIZE
Prize must be booked by 31 October 2025 and travel must be completed by 30 June 2026
a) The selected Winner and his/her travelling companion must travel together both ways. Trip must be booked at least 30 days in advance and no later than 31 October 2025, with travel completed by 30 June 2026. Black-out dates apply from 1 August 2025 to 5 September 2025, from 10 December 2025 to 10 January 2026 and from 30 March to 10 April 2026.
b) The prize offered must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable, exchangeable, refundable or redeemable for cash or any other consideration, and no substitutions will be allowed. Prizes are subject to availability and the Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw or amend the promotion at any time as necessary due to circumstances outside their reasonable control. The Sponsors decision on the alternative prize is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
c) Accommodation, ground arrangements, personal expenses, travel expenses and insurance are not included. The Winner and his/her travelling companion must get any required inoculations and/or required medical forms completed to clear them for travel. All expenses not specifically and expressly provided herein are the sole responsibility of the Winner and his/her travelling companion, including, without limitation, accommodation, city taxes, and incidental charges.
d) Reservations are subject to the availability of the Sponsor. The terms and conditions as stated on www.airtransat.com are applicable. The Sponsor strongly recommends that the selected Winner and his/her travelling companion purchase travel insurance at time of the reservation or prior to departure.
e) Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Names and dates of travel cannot be altered once booked. The Sponsor will not extend validity of prize under any circumstances. The Prize winner is responsible for obtaining proper travel documentation (e.g., passports, visas etc), travel insurance, ground transportation and all other costs, expenses and taxes that are not specifically included above. The Sponsor is not responsible if winner is denied entrance into any country for any reason.
9. PRIZE CLAIM
9.1. In order to be declared a winner, the selected entrant must:
9.1.1. fulfil the conditions for participation set out in articles 3 and 4 of these Rules;
9.1.2. The Winner will be notified via the email address or phone number submitted in their entry and will have seven (7) business days from notification to confirm their prize.
Contact shall be deemed to have been made with the Winner if a representative of the Organiser is able to speak by telephone directly with the Winner (and not via voicemail or any form of automated call service) or the Organiser is satisfied (at its sole discretion) that any email notification sent by the Organiser has been received by the Winner.
9.1.3. If prize notifications are returned as non-deliverable, or after two notifications no response is received, the potential Winner will be disqualified and the prize forfeited, and the Organiser may, in its sole discretion, award the prize to an alternate winner selected from all eligible entries received.
9.1.4. Failure to observe any of the conditions mentioned above or any other conditions stipulated in these Rules, the selected Winner will be disqualified and the Prize that would have been awarded will be forfeited.
10. PERSONAL INFORMATION
10.1. From time to time, the Organiser, with the Winners consent, may use the personal information provided in the entry for the purpose of:
10.1.1. Communicating with the Winner so he/she can take possession of the Prize;
10.1.2. Communicating with the Winner directly in relation to goods and services offered by the Organiser, including special offers and information on travel services;
10.2. The Organiser must either publish, or make available, information that indicates a valid Prize Draw took place. To comply with this obligation, the Organiser will publish or make available the surname and county of the Winner on the Escapism website. If you object to any or all of your surname and county being published or made available, please contact the Organiser on support@escapismmagazine.com. In such circumstance, the Organiser must still provide the information and winning entries to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
11. DATA PROTECTION
Entries remain the property of the Organiser and the Sponsor. Any personal data collected and provided to the Organiser and the Sponsor will be subject to the Privacy Policies on https://escapismmagazine.com/privacy-policy/ and https://www.airtransat.com/en-GB/legal-notice-uk/privacy-policy . The Organiser will only use the personal data of the Winner, and their travel companion, for the purposes of administrating the Prize redemption, unless the Winner provides express consent signifying their agreement to any processing or use of their personal data for marketing purposes. If you are required to submit a third party’s personal information to enter or participate in the Prize draw, you must ensure that the person whose details you submit has given their consent for you to provide us with their details. All entrants may have their details removed from the Organisers database by contacting them or via the unsubscribe messages in emails.
12. GENERAL CONDITIONS
By participating in this Prize draw, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Organiser and the Sponsor, which are final in all matters relating to this Prize draw and acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules. Each entrant acknowledges that the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use found on escapismmagazine.com and airtransat.com/en-GB websites are hereby incorporated by reference and apply to the submission of entries pursuant to these Official Rules.
By participating, each entrant hereby agrees to the Organisers collection and usage of the entrant’s personal information and acknowledges that the entrant has read and accepted the above-referenced Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
12.1. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify an entrant or cancel his/her entry if he/she enters or attempts to enter this Prize draw in a manner that does not comply with these Rules. This entrant may be turned over to the appropriate judicial authorities. Any decision of the Organiser regarding this aspect of the Prize draw is final.
12.2. By entering this Prize draw, the selected Winner and his/her travelling companion acknowledge that their name and or image may be required to be used in publicity, however no personal information will be published without their prior consent.
12.3. The Prize draw, and these terms and conditions, are governed by English law, and any
disputes arising in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the
English courts.
12.4. The Prize draw is administered by the Organiser. The Organiser assumes no responsibility for entry forms that are received after the Prize draw Closing Date, lost, stolen, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, falsified, altered or destroyed, and such forms shall be deemed null and void. The Organiser will assume no responsibility for any problem, failure or technical malfunction of a network line, online computer system, peripheral telephone, software, server, provider, email or browser or any other technical malfunction that may occur, including, but not limited to, a problem of the transmission or non-transmission of an entry form, for any reason whatsoever. The Organiser is not responsible in any way for erroneous or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by the equipment and/or programs associated with or used by the Prize draw or by a technical or human error that may have occurred in conducting the Prize draw, including in the processing of entry forms. The Organiser assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, loss or fault relating to operation or transmission, failure of communication lines, loss or destruction or prohibited access to or modification of the entry forms. The Organiser is not responsible for any injuries or damages that may result from the holding of the Prize draw. All entry forms become the property of the Organiser and will not be returned to the entrant. The Organiser reserves the right to destroy all the documents pertaining to the Prize draw once the retention period as required by law has expired. The Organiser reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to cancel, modify or postpone the Prize draw at any time, without prior notice, if any factor prevents the holding of the Prize draw pursuant to these Rules or in accordance with any law, regulation, by-law or policy of any entity having jurisdiction over the Organiser.
12.6. By entering the Prize draw, the entrant acknowledges having read and understood these Rules and agrees to be bound by them and to comply with them. The Prize entrant declares that the Rules are understandable and reasonably available for consultation.
12.7. The headings herein are for convenience only, do not constitute a part of these Rules, and shall not be deemed to limit or affect any of the provisions hereof. No amendment to, or waiver of, any provision of these Rules shall be effective unless in writing and signed by the Organiser.
