A who's-who of techno - Awakenings is where legends and newcomers alike come to fly the techno flag.
The festival
This is one for those that know their stuff – check out the lineup and if you know who's playing, then it's probaby the festival for you. If you don't, then it's probably not.
Created specifically for die-hard dance-heads, this massive celebration of all things house and techno is an absolute must for those that want the festival equivalent of Berghain or Trouw.
However, and a long way from those clubs, is the gigantic and extravagant stage design - it's mental. And talking of stages – there are loads of them. The main reason for this is that the lineup is HUGE.

Getting there
How do I get there?
Bus
Shuttle buses run between Amsterdam Sloterdijk railway station and the event. The first shuttle buses depart at 11 o'clock and they will continue driving to and from throughout the event. A shuttle bus return ticket costs €6 (incl. fee) in presale and €10 at the bus stop. You can sign up here.
Train
The railway station Halfweg / Zwanenburg isn't suitable for a massive flow of visitors to Awakenings Festival. As a result, it's closed for visitors of Awakenings Festival. All visitors arriving by public transport have to travel via Amsterdam-Sloterdijk and the shuttle service. Any nextmen who do arrive at Halfweg station will be redirected to Amsterdam-Sloterdijk.
Car
From the direction of Den Haag – Leave the A4 at junction De Hoek and take the A5 towards Haarlem. From the A5 go to the A9 at junction Raasdorp (towards Haarlem). Follow the A9 until junction Rottepolderplein and then follow the A200/N200 towards Halfweg. Then follow the “Awakenings” signs.
From the direction of Utrecht – Leave the A2/E35 at junction Holendecht-Zuid and take the A9 in the direction of Haarlem. Follow the A9 until junction Rottepolderplein and then follow the A200/N200 towards Halfweg. Then follow the “Awakenings’ signs.
From the direction of Amsterdam – From the A10 WEST take the S102 in the direction of Ijmuiden. Go left at the end of the road. Then follow the “Awakenings” signs.
From the direction of Alkmaar – From junction Rottepolderplein take the A200/N200 in the direction of Halfweg. Then follow the “Awakenings” signs (got the hang of this yet?).
