The basics
With a focus on homegrown talent – and a few international stars thrown in for good measure – Boom Bap has the UK hip hop scene covered.
The festival
Boom Bap is about one thing – proving UK hip hop acts can stand up against their US counterparts, with a Brit-heavy lineup that mines the underground for the best fresh talent. Actually, it’s about two things, because good times are as important to the Boom Bap dogma as good music.
With a new home in Suffolk’s Mildenhall Stadium, Boom Bap turned up the volume for its 2014 festival – Ghostface Killah headlined, along with Detroit’s Clear Soul Forces and Blak Twang, while other acts included mask-wearing The Four Owls and UK hip hop legend Ty.
Our tip
There’s a big graffiti presence at Boom Bap, with artists from all over the world leaving their mark on the festival – paint's not allowed, though, so don't even think about bringing your own.
