The basics
Get a taste of big Bestival with this family friendly festival on the spectacular Dorset coast. It’s part family camping trip, part proper festival.
The festival
From the tireless and endlessly creative founders of Bestival comes this camping-trip-come-festival that manages to be family friendly without dumbing down. Instead of the Isle of Wight, Camp Bestival takes place on the Isle of Purbeck (which isn’t an island at all, but we’ll forgive it) in Dorset, and the setting – both natural and manmade – is as good as it gets.
Taking Bestival’s sense of fun, togetherness and whimsy as a starting point, Camp Bestival leans further towards keeping the kids happy than its older sibling – there are kids’ shows and entertainment, circus skills workshops, soft play areas and sports activities, but the main draw – however old you are – is the music.
Our tip
It’s possible to combine your trip to Camp Bestival with getting married at Lulworth Castle, so you can tie the knot then head to the main stage for the ultimate post-wedding party.
