Electric Daisy Carnival NY
May 2020
The basics
New York outpost of the dance festival that’s big, bold and beat-heavy.
The festival
Though its roots are in Southern California, the Electric Daisy Carnival has spread far and wide – as far and wide in 2014 as Mexico and, er, Milton Keynes, with Las Vegas, Orlando and New York also on the list.
While more and more EDM festivals appear each year, Electric Daisy Carnival is riding the crest of the wave with huge crowds and A-list acts, all served up with an undercurrent of counterculture that harks back to the best days of rave.
If you thought they’d stopped making hedonism like they used to, Electric Daisy Carnival might just change your mind.
Our tip
To make sure you’re at the centre of the party, get into the spirit of things with body paint – or fancy dress if the weather’s less than perfect.
