The basics
The small Cornish town of Looe lets its hair down for a weekend of raucous fun and music
The festival
They know how to throw an epic party in Cornwall, and you’ll find plenty of proof when the small town of Looe grows in size for its annual beachfront shindig.
With more than 90 bands on five stages, the festival takes over Looe’s beach and streets, and locals and visitors get stuck into three days of non-stop partying. Uniquely, almost the whole town is swallowed up by the festival, which means quayside restaurants, shops and hotels are all absorbed into a rocking carnival atmosphere.
The Brand New Heavies played in 2014, and you can expect more crowd-pleasers to join them at a festival that’s hosted The Darkness, The Damned, The Levellers and The Stranglers in its first two years of existence.
Our tip
For an adventurous break from the carnage, head to nearby Adrenaline Quarry, where you can be thrown off cliffs or pushed on a giant swing. If you’re nursing the mother of all hangovers, this one could go either way...
