The basics
Remote Scottish music festival that punches way above its weight
The festival
Closing the summer’s festival haul is Loopallu, probably the most remote festival you’ll find on our shores, 60 miles from Inverness in tiny Ullapool (read it backwards). While it can’t guarantee good weather at the end of September, it can offer up big indie acts worthy of the summer’s higher profile festivals.
In the past, it’s had headline sets from Franz Ferdinand, Ash and Mumford & Sons, and this year promises some new and old faces to its small stage. 2015 was its 10th anniversary, and was a massive one.
Our tip
Bring a waterproof jacket and wellies at all costs – this isn’t August in Nevada.
