The basics

The reet good people at Ike Productions are responsible for this one-day festival in Nottingham, which raises money and awareness for those affected by cancer.

The festival

Oh Macmillan Fest, where the energy is never-ending, the rock is relentless and the great bands are packed bumper to bumper.

It's held at Nottingham's Rescue Rooms, one of the city's top venues, with no less than six live music spaces for the six different stages at the festival. Great if you're extremely lazy like us and you can do without the effort of walking from field to field or stage to stage. Or if you plan on getting legless, in which case hands and knees are always an option.

It also helps if you're not a tight bastard, because let's not forget this is all for charity. The tickets are pretty cheap, but donate generously and a warm fuzzy feeling is guaranteed (warmer and fuzzier than all the beer, we promise).

Our tip

The bands range from nice civilised acoustic sets to raucous heavier stuff, so expect some stage theatricals.
