The festival
– Ahoy mateys, do you have money?
– Yes.
– Do you have your thong?
– Yes.
– Do you have a sense of adventure?
– Yes.
– Do you have a deck of cards? We forgot those ourselves despite being on a boat with a casino and a liquor licence.
– No. I left it in my other thong.
– Oh, okay, nevermind. We have one card at least. And that card is... the Ace of Spades!
That's right boys and girls, it's a festival, on a cruise ship, hosted by Motörhead. Motorboat sets sail on the Norwegian Sky from Miami, which is confusing. What isn't confusing is that it looks set to be an ass-load of fun, with lots of debauchery and some huge A-list names from the world of hard rock. I'm on a boat, I'm on a boat. And so are Motörhead. AND THEY CAN'T ESCAPE.
Our tip
Keep checking the webste for news on the 'theme nights'. You don't want to arrive in Miami without the right fancy dress. You'll look like a silly billy.

Getting there
How do I get there?
By air: When booking your flights, they recommend you arrive in Miami the day prior to your departure (or earlier). This will help you to avoid missing the cruise due to any potential flight delays, lost baggage or other problems that could occur. However, should you need to arrive on the date of departure, please note that Miami International Airport (MIA) is approximately 10-miles from the Port of Miami cruise terminals. Please allow approximately 20 minutes travel time from the airport to the Port.
You should plan to arrive at the port on September 28th by 12:00pm-ET. Check-in and embarkation at the port will begin at 12:00pm-ET. You MUST be on the ship no later than 2:30pm – it sets sail at 4:00pm.
You'll get off at approximately 7:00am. When booking your return flight out of Miami, NCL recommends choosing flights that depart after 12:00pm.
Taxis are available at all cruise terminals.
Super Shuttle is an alternative means of transportation to/from the pier.
By car: From the I-95 – Take I-95 north or south to I-395. Follow the directional signs to the Biscayne Boulevard exit. When you get the Biscayne Blvd., take a right. Go to 5th Street which converts into Port Blvd. Take a left and go over the Port bridge. Follow the signs to the designated terminal.
From the west – Take the FL-836/Dolphin Expressway East. Stay straight and go through the tolls. Stay straight to I-395 East. Follow the signs to the Biscayne Boulevard exit. When you get to Biscayne Blvd., take a right. Go to 5th Street which converts into Port Blvd. Take a left and go over the Port bridge. Follow the signs to the designated terminal.
