The basics
Resurrection is one of the biggest and baddest metal and heavy rock festivals in Europe. Boasting upwards of 300 bands, it's like a mecca for fans of all the meatier rock genres.
The festival
And by meatier, we mean hardcore, metal, punk and anything else which satisfies your need to unleash your inner rock demon. Previous acts have included massive names such as Korn, Motorhead, In Flames, Black Label Society, Megadeath, Slayer, NOFX, Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch and Kitty Torture (we made that last one up for laughs).
The festival was founded by the two Ivans - Ivan Perez and Ivan Mendez, who met at an Ivans Anonymous group and bonded over their love of all things hardcore. One of those two things is true. The first Resurrection was held in 2006 and since then the Ivans have been resolute that the festival should be value for money, so no massive price hikes here, no sir.
Happening in Viveiro in Spain over three days during the summer, there's plenty of scenic camping space to go round and loads of great stuff to see and do in the region so it's worth making a week of it and doing Resurrection as part of a longer holiday in Spain.
Our tip
Truly a festival by fans for fans, every year the Ivans do a survey allowing Resurrection punters to have their say on bands they'd like to see. So get involved and have your say! Resurrection wants YOU.
