Spread across two cities like a lovely outbreak of music, it's Rock for People!
Rock, for people. Why? Because the people need it. You wouldn't paper for people, you wouldn't scissor for people (not like that), yet you would rock for people. Why? Because it feels good.
Spread over two days, the Rock for People festival in the stunning Czech Republic is the perfect opportunity to soak up the sun, listen to some top acts and drink beer which has been made with pride and, importantly, doesn't take like donkey piss. If that's not a good enough reason to get your passport out, then we don't know what is.
Hradec Kralove is a nice town (with great beer) and if that doesn't tickle your fancy enough, Prague is just over an hour away. A good beer will set you back a whopping one pound. We know, it's great, isn't it?
How do I get there?
The festival takes place in central Czech Republic, at the Hradec Králové airport. 2km from the Hradec Králové town centre.
You can reach Hradec Králové by train from Prague (it takes about 90 minutes). Trains are every hour and leave from Hlavní Nádraží. Alternatively you can catch a bus. Buses leave every hour from Černý Most to Hradec Králové and it takes about 90mins. See bus timetable here.
From here you can take a regular, free shuttle service to the festival (valid for festival ticket holders only).
Festival goers staying in Hradec Králové can catch local transport to the festival; 'Letiště' (Bus no. 15 and 25) or 'U Lupínků' in Hradec Kralove - Pouchov (Bus no. 13) or alternatively can catch a taxi to the festival for approximately 150CZK.
Before leaving the festival site each day, make sure you get your bus ticket stamped (main entrance or at the Expats.cz info point). Failure to do so and you might cop a big old fine.
Parking is also available on site for those who want to drive. 200CZK for the entire festival. Tickets can be purchased at the gates.
