The basics
Five days of tip top European clubbing takes over a Croatian party town.
The festival
Croatia really is the place to head this summer for festivals with sun, sea and cheap booze. If you’re a bit over the sponsored, corporate nature of many UK festivals nowadays, then Croatia should be top of your list. Sonus is split between a pretty beach, a couple of nightclubs and various boat parties - it’s as much about getting a tan as it is about getting on it.
With 50 international artists and a small ticket allocation this is a boutique affair, where we doubt you’ll have to queue for the loos for very long. Only in its second year, Sonus has a secret kind of feel, but it’s definitely more of an international clubbing party than a full on festival, with underground clubs from Eastern Europe, Berlin and Turkey all taking turns on the decks. There’s a campsite on the beach but if that’s too sandy a thought for you there’s also hotels and apartments in town.
Our tip
Don’t want to head home after five days? Take the ferry to Italy to Ancona and explore the Italian east coast.

Getting there
How do I get there?
Travelling by Air:
Zadar Airport - 50 kilometers from Novalja - the closest airport to Novalja and therefore also to the Sonus festival site.
Split Airport - 200 kilometers from Novalja - Croatia's second largest city and the biggest city in South Croatia is approached by many international airlines.
Zagreb Airport - 310 kilometers from Novalja - Croatia's capital is naturally a regular departure for almost every european airline.
Rijeka Airport - 150 Kilometres from Novalja - Rijeka is an international airport, based on the isle of Krk. Many German and European low-budget airlines fly here.
Triest Airport - 260 Kilometres from Novalja - Triest is an italian airport which is frequently approached by many airlines. Although it's 260 kilometres from Pag Island, it's a good choice to travel to Sonus as our official partner collegium is offering Bus transfers from Triest to Novalja.
Airport Transfers - The Collegium buses offer airport transfers from these airports directly in to Novalja.
Travelling by Boat: The way to SONUS by boat won't be an option for everyone but it's a fast and not very expensive alternative for our guests from Italy. Ferries are running regularly between Ancona (ITALY) and Croatia.
