The basics
A day of great music, gourmet eats and community fun in West Sydney.
The festival
Ah, the New World - not actually that new as it turns out. The Plot festival may take place in Sydney, but it does so in front of the oldest surviving public building in Australia, which is over 200 years old! Hang on, 200? Yeah, OK, the New World is super new. We take it all back. And wasn't America the New World anyway? We have a feeling Pocohontas was set there. Screw it, ignore us completely.
BUT, more importantly, The Plot has a great line-up for a one day festival, and is a great way to get some community spirit without having to go to some really worthy church fete, or whatever the Aussie equivalent to that is. And if it's not your community, who cares? The Australians are famously hospitable. We're sure they'll be nice to you anyway.
With delicious gourmet food and three stages brimming with music, all in front of a UNESCO World Heritage Site (yep, 200 years merits a UNESCO award down under apparently) there should be something for everyone at this little gem of a fest. Just don't forget a hat with corks hanging from it when you go.
Our tip
Seriously, don't forget that hat. Australians don't talk to anyone without one.
