The basics
A more grown up affair for world music lovers in a romantic setting.
The festival
Gilles Peterson has to be one of the hardest working men in music. From radio shows and producing albums to running his own record label, he’s also behind Worldwide Festival, which aims to bring the music of the show to a live audience, all in the stunning setting of Sete in the South of France.
Expect everything from nu-jazz to Afro beats alongside Peterson’s long time favourite artists like Four Tet. Languorously taking place over a week, shows and events are hosted in various venues including a beach stage and you can buy tickets to the whole week or just one show at a time.
There’s no camping here so you’ll have to book an apartment or hotel but it means you’ll be fresh as a daisy every night and ready to dance ‘til you drop.
Our tip
If you don’t want to fly, the TGV train takes only three hours from Paris to the South of France.
