Nestled within an impressive world of mountains and glaciers, the Saas-Fee/Saastal holiday region offers unique experiences that reveal winter in the Alps from an entirely new perspective. Surrounded by 18 four-thousand-metre peaks, including the Dom at 4,545 meters – the highest mountain located entirely on Swiss soil—the valley promises breathtaking mountain and nature experiences. Skiing up to 3,600 meters above sea level, glacier skiing, and a season opening as early as 1 November with winter sports until mid-April ensure an exceptionally long winter season and guaranteed snow.

Exceptional skiing across three areas

The region boasts three ski areas: Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund and Saas-Almagell, together offering 150 kilometres of pistes for all ability levels. They are perfectly connected through an e-bus system, allowing visitors to explore the valley with ease. From the very first overnight stay, bus travel in the Saas Valley is included with the guest card, giving every visitor effortless travel within the valley.

A car-free, sustainable village

Saas-Fee itself is a car-free village, where cars remain in the parking lot at the village entrance and guests are picked up by their accommodation. This focus on sustainability creates tranquillity, an authentic mountain experience, and a strong commitment to ecological responsibility. The village emphasises renewable energy, local products, and long-term ecological initiatives, all of which allow visitors to enjoy their holiday with a clear conscience.

Winter adventures beyond the slopes

Beyond skiing, the Saas Valley offers a wide range of winter adventures. Winter hiking and snowshoeing allow guests to explore well-marked trails, soaking in the peaceful winter landscape and refreshing mountain air. Glacier experience tours take visitors on snowshoe discovery journeys from Längfluh Station across the Fee Glacier, exploring crevasses and ice formations under the guidance of experienced mountain guides who share insights into glacier formation and dynamics. Sledging runs in three villages of Saas-Grund, Saas Almagell and Saas-Fee offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, with the longest run extending over 11km. Sledges are available for hire at the cable cars.

For a truly magical evening, visitors can enjoy a fondue gondola in Saas-Fee, combining a warm fondue with a glass of wine or tea while gliding over the valley at night. Sunrise skiing allows early risers to carve the first tracks of the day on expertly groomed slopes, after enjoying breakfast in the world's highest revolving restaurant on Mittelallalin, as the first rays of sunlight illuminate the surrounding peaks. The alpine canyon of the Fee Gorge offers a high-adrenaline winter experience, featuring frozen waterfalls, suspension bridges, ladders, steel ropes, and a high-speed Tyrolean zip-line. For a quieter adventure, husky trekking along the Vispa in Saas-Almagell provides a 2- to 3-hour journey through picturesque, snow-covered paths.
