The basics
The fictional city of BoomTown sets up camp again for a wild celebration of eclectic sounds and bizarre goings-on.
The festival
The festival equivalent of a concept album, BoomTown is a fictional city that assembles every year, complete with its own imagined history and steampunk meets wild west aesthetic. If all that sounds a bit wacky, BoomTown probably isn’t for you.
If, on the other hand, it sounds right up your (imaginary) street, you’ll find a packed lineup that runs the spectrum from dub and ska to gypsy folk and drum and bass, alongside exactly the sort of fire-breathing, stilt-walking shenanigans you’d expect from this alternate reality.
The 2015 lineup is TBC. Hopefully, unlike the rest of the festival, they won’t be figments of anyone’s imagination. Either way, the good citizens of BoomTown will lap it up.
Our tip
Don't be afraid to get lost. There's a hell of a lot to do, so make sure you explore the whole site (just make sure you've got at least one mate with you otherwise you'll end up like us AT EVERY FESTIVAL EVER).
