Butlins are smashing the festival scene at the moment, and this light-hearted fest is no exception.
Down in lovely Minehead, it's time to have a big old knees-up with Madness and their mates in a huge resort. Sounds like a right laugh, if you ask us.
Madness have created the ultimate in fun weekends, with all manner of wacky stuff going down. From a huge range of musical acts, to comedy, musical bingo, silent disco, a Carry On cinema experience and even Shitfaced Shakespeare (whatever that is).
If you want a festival a little more on the quirky side of things, then House Of Fun is the one for you. Also, beds. BEDS.
If you need a break from all the dancing, why not get yourself wet at the Splash Waterworld?
How do I get there?
By car: Minehead is around 2 hours drive from Bristol. Heading north the simplest route is to take the M5 to Taunton (Junction 25), then take the A358 and then A39 Minehead. Heading south on the M5 you can follow the signposts for the A358 from Junction 24. It's just half a mile along the seafront road from Minehead town centre. The postcode is TA24 5SH.
*Warning* There will be a temporary closure of the A39 Bilbrook from 4 November for 3 weeks (Monday - Friday between 9.00am - 3.00pm). Diversion routes will be put in place but please allow yourself extra time for travel.
By train: The nearest main line station to Minehead is Taunton. A bus transfer service is operated by Southern National between Taunton station and Minehead. This service is available at an additional cost. For general information call Southern National on 01823 272033.
By coach: National Express offer a regular service to the resort. Please note that only National Express coaches stop inside the main entrance.
Prices start at £155 for the whole weekend, but there are many different types of accomodation options. Check the Butlins website for details.
