The basics
Three days of leaving your normal life behind. Pack the fancy dress, glitter and a sense of humour for Secret Garden Party.
The festival
If you don’t like to embrace your inner freak, and the wild and weird side of festival going, then Secret Garden Party might not be for you.
The Cambridgeshire countryside gets transformed into another world. Pranksters Bearded Kitten will be organising contests of every kind (hotdog eating, mud wrestling, dance offs), Guerilla Science will be undertaking crazy experiments, there will be parades, prancing and performance art everywhere you look, and more fancy dress than you could shake a fairy wand at. Relax from all the shenanigans at the Sanctuary which brings together holistic treatments, hot tubs, wellness workshops and even a trapeze school.
Every year has a theme and like Bestival, the more you commit to the full on craziness of this alternative reality for a few days, the more you’ll enjoy the party.
Our tip
Camping gets grown up here with lots of different glamping options including swish yurts, tipis, wooden sheds and gypsy caravans.

At next roundabout go straight over (signposted A141 March & Ely) Continue straight over the next three roundabouts. The last roundabout will have a huge Tescos on it. Shortly after, there will be a turning left (signposted Kings Ripton.) Take this turning and follow the road down to the next crossroads. Turn left towards Abbots Ripton (B1090). The Festival is about a mile on your right – very hard to miss…
