A day of great music, gourmet eats and community fun in West Sydney.
Ah, the New World - not actually that new as it turns out. The Plot festival may take place in Sydney, but it does so in front of the oldest surviving public building in Australia, which is over 200 years old! Hang on, 200? Yeah, OK, the New World is super new. We take it all back. And wasn't America the New World anyway? We have a feeling Pocohontas was set there. Screw it, ignore us completely.
BUT, more importantly, The Plot has a great line-up for a one day festival, and is a great way to get some community spirit without having to go to some really worthy church fete, or whatever the Aussie equivalent to that is. And if it's not your community, who cares? The Australians are famously hospitable. We're sure they'll be nice to you anyway.
With delicious gourmet food and three stages brimming with music, all in front of a UNESCO World Heritage Site (yep, 200 years merits a UNESCO award down under apparently) there should be something for everyone at this little gem of a fest. Just don't forget a hat with corks hanging from it when you go.
Seriously, don't forget that hat. Australians don't talk to anyone without one.

How do I get there?
We highly recommend traveling to The Plot via public transport. Parramatta is 30 minutes on the train from Sydney’s CBD or Liverpool. If you’re traveling from the Lower Blue Mountains or Campbelltown it’s 40 minutes on the train. Live in Rouse Hill? It will take you just over 60 minutes on a bus.
Parramatta Park is approximately a 10-minute walk from both Parramatta and Westmead train stations. You can visit Sydney Trains for full timetable information here.
Sydney Ferries' Route F3 travels along the river between Circular Quay and Parramatta. It will be a lovely journey out, but there are limited times on the return. Visit Sydney Ferries for full timetable information here.
There will be no event parking on-site at Parramatta Park. If you would like to drive, you can check out a list of parking options here.
