The basics
Get peessed on the pistes, then catch a carriage back home
The festival
From the team behind Snowbombing, the big daddy of snow festivals, comes a new arrival. Transition Festival is based in the little village of Avoriaz, where there isn't a car in sight and you can ski straight to your room from the pistes, or grab a ride in an adorable horse and cart. There'll be multiple venues pumping music from apres to after-hours, only a short snowball's throw from the accommodation.
Chuck in a water park with two pool parties, Europe's largest high-altitude feast, a disco igloo and a 2000-player snowball fight, and you've got an idea of the wonders of Transition. Beginners and pros alike can book skiing lessons through the festival and revel in the guaranteed snowfall and some of the best mountain views there are. Finally, there are plenty of outdoor parties on the pistes for when you can't be arsed to keep skiing. And best of all, you can get 6 nights' accommodation and a festival wristband for less than £100. Surely that can't be right?
