Small scale festival that should live up to the Baltics’ love of a good party.
Latvia has its own music festival in the guise of Positivus, now in its seventh year. With a compact site and three mains stages (and several smaller ones), Positivus is perfect if you get put off by the idea of tramping miles every time you change your mind about what band to see. And here, there’s plenty of UK, US and European rock, indie and electro acts to see.
This year the festival has re-energised the food on offer, with a variety of food areas, a new vintage arts and craft market. The festival site is around two hours from capital Riga, so it’s easy to get to using low cost carriers.
Stop off in Riga on the way home, for stunning architecture and surprisingly good beer.
