The basics
Small but feisty music and arts festival set in the rolling Peak District.
The festival
Calling a festival Y Not is pretty punchy – although when the lineup’s this good, it sort of justifies the name. A mix of indie, soul and good old rock’n’roll is represented here, with headline acts in 2014 De La Soul and Razorlight keeping the Peak District crowds amused.
It’s got a reputation to draw a melting pot of people of all ages – with the common thread being that they’re there to have a jolly good time. It’s family-friendly, too, with extra activities and performances such as hoola hooping, mask and costume making and small carnivals making their way through this particular spot in Derbyshire.
Our tip
Check the festival’s Facebook page in the run-up to the festival to vote on your favourite theme (and wear it, obviously).
