Isaac Bartlett-Copeland, head chef at Brighton's Isaac At

Chef Isaac Bartlett-Copeland, 24, opened his first restaurant, Isaac At, as a pop-up in Brighton in March 2015. Now a permanent restaurant open five nights a week, he spends most of his time in the kitchen. When he gets some time off, here’s where you’ll find him...

Food at The Little Fish Market, Hove

The Little Fish Market, Hove

The Little Fish Market is by far my favourite restaurant in Brighton. It's small, romantic and tucked away, so it's the kind of place that you'd only go to if you knew it was there. I really like fish and it's got such a unique atmosphere. Casual but a really nice dining experience, I love it.

Pompoko is near the Brighton Pavilion

Pompoko

Pompoko is a no frills Japanese restaurant, but the food is incredible. Every dish is under five pounds and comes in under five minutes. It's perfect to grab a takeaway from and go and sit in the Pavilion Gardens if it's a nice day.

Food at 64 Degrees, Brighton

64 Degrees

64 Degrees is a really cool restaurant. It's got a trendy vibe and you can watch the chefs if you're sat at the pass. That's great if you're a chef yourself, watching what's going on. It's quite casual too, which is perfect.

Bread at The Flour Pot Bakery

The Flour Pot Bakery

The Flour Pot Bakery on Sydney Street is our favourite for a coffee run when we need a break from the kitchen. They have fresh pastries, breads and cakes every day, it's hard to resist.

Interior of The Plotting Parlour, Brighton

The Plotting Parlour

The Plotting Parlour is the best place to get a cocktail in Brighton. It's really classy, done out like a speakeasy, and they create some amazing cocktails. You'll always have a great night there.

The Fortune of War

In the summer, the Fortune of War on the beach is a great spot. You can sit on the beach but still get a proper cold pint. It's perfect for when you've been on the beach all day and you want a change of scene and somewhere you can grab a quick drink.

The Mash Tun, Brighton

The Mash Tun

The Mash Tun is the place to grab a drink on a Saturday night, especially in the summer with their big outside area. It's open as late as a club, but you can have a casual beer, too. If you work in our industry and you want to go out after work, there isn't anywhere to go other than a club, which isn't what you always want. The Mash Tun is the perfect in-between pub, whatever we're in the mood for – you don't always have to dance on the tables!

How It Should Be ethical supermarket in Brighton

HiSBE

We're so lucky to have an ethical supermarket around the corner. We love what they do to support local suppliers and they always have the origin of their produce marked, with most of it from Sussex. It's perfect if we're ever short on something or want to experiment with a new dish.

Very Italian Pizza, Brighton

Very Italian Pizza

VIP is a great place to eat in the city. It's really close to Isaac At, so we find ourselves there quite a lot. It's so cheap and the food is so good. It's traditional, straight-up Italian service, so you know what you're going to get. It's got a great atmosphere and you can take away, too.

Chefs cooking at Bincho Yakitori, Brighton

Bincho Yakitori

I really like Bincho Yakitori. It's quite cheap, the food is so good and it's the kind of place you can go, order a lot of dishes and it will still only be £30 to £40. It's exactly what you want – everything is really tasty and it's quite adventurous.
