Headed for Paris, Rome or Barcelona for a city break over the summer? You won't get any free mini bottles of shampoo, but you will get a proper grip on a city by staying in your own city crash pad – which is what I decided to do in Paris with Go With Oh.
Go With Oh – the 'Oh' meaning 'open house' – has a staff of fifty 'Europhiles' who have sourced more than 2,000 apartment rentals in 22 European destinations, which means they know a nice pad when they see it.
The Go With Oh apartment on Rue Montorgueil, in the 2eme arrondissement of the city (around Opéra and the Paris bourse if you're not familiar), is no different. A huge door between two cafes takes you away from the gourmet patisseries and boulangeries, store fronts blooming with cheese wheels, and fresh produce and flowers galore, into a quiet courtyard which leads to the apartment building. With orchids and a plush fuschia armchair in the lounge and kitted out kitchen perfect for hosting your own Parisian dinner party.
The quaint street itself boasts gourmet patisseries and boulangeries, and fresh produce and flower markets galore, while being close to the big tourist spots of Notre Dame and the Louvre – which you probably shouldn't leave Paris without seeing…
