Osprey Archeon 30 women's backpack: What is it?
This is Osprey's first proper foray into more responsible production, and boy have they done good. But then we wouldn't expect any less from a brand with such a reputation for high-functioning, long-lasting gear. The specs say that the bag is 100% made out of recycled fabrics certified by the Global Recycled Standard, something which applies to the whole of the new Archeon and Arcane ranges. The simple, Scandi-esque design is a bit of a departure for function-first Osprey, but we're not complaining: the brand has knocked it out of the park.
Osprey Archeon 30 women's backpack: Why do I need it?
This is the kind of pack that'll see you through all your day-hiking, gym-kit-lugging, weekend away needs. What we love most is the easy-access front zip – so no more scrabbling around for knickers/lip balm/other essentials you know you packed but never seem to be able to find. You've still got heaps of pockets, space for a hydration pack (ideal for long Tube journeys, if you ask us), and an AirScape back panel that will keep you cool and comfy through more active adventures. The denim-like material – which comes in both navy blue and burgundy – is treated with a durable water repellent finish that doesn't contain harmful PFCs, while there's a rain cover to keep things 100% dry in a deluge. No matter what you're using it for, the Osprey Archeon 30 has all bases covered.
Osprey Archeon 30 women's backpack: Should I buy it?
If you like all the functionality of Osprey's backpacks but want something a bit less, erm, nerdy in looks. We've got the 30, but now we want the 25 and the 65, too. And if you're after something even smaller, the Arcane range consists of smaller essentials like duffels, laptop bags and a slick-looking tote pack, similarly made out of recycled fabrics. We'll take one of each.
