We want to be in Manu National Park deep in the Amazon rainforest this week. It’s has just celebrated its 40th anniversary as a national park, finishing in a colourful parade last week.
Manu in southwest Peru now boasts one of the highest levels of biodiversity in the world, thanks to its location stretching from the Andes to the Amazon. Capitalising on this, not-for-profit group crees has launched eco tours around the region to showcase Manu – you’ll spot giant river otters, primates of all shapes and sizes, hummingbirds and even jaguars.
