The basics
Rockers unite at the spiritual home of metal for three days of guitar-fuelled hedonism.
The festival
The beating heart of the UK's rock summer calendar, Download has been on the scene for more than a decade, earning its place in the pantheon with a combination of high-profile acts and emerging talent.
Donington Park has a long and happy relationship with rock, stretching back to the 1980s and 1990s when the Monsters of Rock festival was held there, and it makes the perfect home for the armies of metallers and rockers that descend on it in the mid-June sun.
Do battle in the mosh pit, if you think you’ve got what it takes.
