It's The Ship
Nov 2020
The basics
Hit the casino, scale a climbing wall then dance the night away, all at sea in tropical waters.
The festival
We don't know about you, but cruise ships tend to freak us out. All those pastel colours and swirly carpets and IT'S A WHOLE TOWN ON THE WATER AND IT'S STILL AFLOAT HOW DOES THAT EVEN MAKE SENSE WHY AREN'T YOU ALL DEAD?
Anyway. We think It's The Ship might be almost enough to make us change our minds. It's on a super-swanky boat with chandeliers and a casino and basically all the activities you could ever want. Your ticket includes entrance to the climbing wall, loads of pools, some kind of weird surfing simulator, an ice rink and probably also a paintballing arena (there's probably not a paintballing arena).
The pool parties are banging and last all night, with great DJs and an elated crowd. There's also a huge beach party when you reach Langkawi, with inflatables to play on and a full festival stage. Basically, if you can afford it and you can get there, you should probably go to this. And if you're really loaded, there's even a bloody casino for you to blow the rest of your cash. Result!
Our tip
Singapore is famously intolerant of drugs, and although the boat is going into international waters you still shouldn't even think about bringing anything illegal with you, or buying it in Langkawi. Sentencing is ludicrously harsh, and if you're caught with a substantial amount they will literally kill you. Buzzkill, sorry, but we thought you ought to know.

Getting there
How do I get there?
Once you're on-board you'll be completely looked after, and there's transport to and from the beach party in Langkawi. The only even slightly tricky part will be getting to the boat, which is moored only 10-15 minutes away from the centre of Singapore.
Directions
From the ECP (East Coast Parkway)
Take exit 17A – Marina Place / Marina South / Central Boulevard.
Turn left to stay on Marina Place
Turn right at Marina Boulevard.
Slight right to continue along Marina Coastal Drive.
Drive past Marina South Pier (on your left) and the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore is the next building on the left.
If you don't have a car, it's probably best just to grab a cab.
