Thailand may be famous for its breathtaking beaches and lively culinary scene, but now Prakaan, the country’s very first original single malt whisky, is reshaping Thailand’s global identity with a new collection of award-winning whiskies.

Prakaan isn’t just a single malt whisky – it’s alchemy in a glass, drawing inspiration from the ancient stone walls that once protected the Kingdom of Thailand and still stand strong today in Kamphaeng Phet, its proud birthplace. Each golden drop is a celebration of Thailand’s electric soul, skilfully distilled into a smooth, vibrant whisky.

Prakaan’s Kamphaeng Phet distillery

The debut Tribura Series ushers in a new era of whisky craftsmanship with three distinctive single malts: Prakaan Select Cask, Prakaan Double Cask and Prakaan Peated Malt. Prakaan’s home is set deep within the heart of a Unesco World Heritage Site, where nature and history converge.

Majestic national parks, pristine conservation lands and lush rainforests are home to the distillery, while pure spring water and the humid climate transform each drop into something special.

Prakaan isn’t just crafted; it’s a joyful invitation to taste the true essence of Thailand in every exquisite sip.

A passionate team of artisans crafts Prakaan, marrying centuries-old whisky-distilling techniques with a spark of Thai ingenuity. Through a unique production process, Thailand’s first premium single malt whisky is born.

The process begins deep beneath the earth, where pristine, crystal-clear water is drawn before carefully selected barley is transformed through fermentation in gleaming stainless steel.

The spirit is twice distilled in copper pot stills imported from Scotland before embarking on a patient journey in innovative underground warehouses, maturing in American ex-bourbon and Spanish ex-sherry casks under the watchful eye of Prakaan’s makers.

The result is a single malt whisky that truly embodies a rare equilibrium – vibrant, complex and unmistakably Thai.

More than just a whisky, each sip invites you to discover a world of exotic flavours, from tropical fruits and fragrant spices to vibrant aromatics. As a testament to the quality and craftsmanship behind Thailand’s original single malt, Prakaan Select Cask was named a category winner at the World Whiskies Awards 2025.

Priced between £60 and £75, Prakaan single malt whisky is sold in 70cl bottles and is available from specialist retailers, including The Whisky Exchange
