In 2007, bars in the Swedish towns of Båstad (no laughing) and Visby banned the spraying of champagne to maintain public order. In protest, Sweden's super-wealthy youth turned to 'vaskning', ie paying for champagne and throwing it down the sink to show their (debatable) social desirability. It's apparently the key to attracting ladies, but we'd rather just drink it, truth be told.
