Editor

Nick Savage grew up in Downeast Maine, the son of a helicopter pilot and a psychologist, where distance and weather set the tone early. He travelled alone to Australia at eleven, studied in the mountains of Colorado and New Hampshire, then in Scotland, before working on scientific resupply expeditions across the Greenland Ice Sheet. Now editor of Escapism, he writes primarily about adventure sports – from ultramarathons and mountain running to backcountry snowboarding, mountaineering, mountain biking, canoeing and kayaking – while also covering the wider spectrum of travel, including wellness, luxury, food and drink.
