The long-anticipated arrival of season three of The White Lotus has finally landed on our laps. And while we watch from our sofas in waterlogged Britain this February, you may find yourself wondering which real-life hotels and spas were featured on this cult TV show. Just asking for a friend…

This season’s biting black comedy skewers the problematic aspects of luxury travel (with a sprinkling of, er, incest), featuring a throng of characters you find yourself despising and then… weirdly rooting for. Among the notable names for season three are Patrick Schwarzenegger as a raging gymcel (yes, Arnold’s son), Jason Isaacs (the actor behind Draco Malfoy’s dad in Harry Potter), Fargo’s Carrie Coon, Aimee Lou Wood from Sex Education and many more.

Natasha Rothwell is back for season three as Belinda Lindsey

For those tempted to swap binge-watching for binge Singha consumption, we’ve done some snooping to find out which hotels were used during filming across Koh Samui and Phuket – should you fancy taking your Amex for a spin and cosplaying as Parker Posey. Grab your sunnies and lorazepam, we’re heading to Thailand.

Where is The White Lotus season three filmed?

The Four Seasons Koh Samui

The Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui serves as the primary setting for The White Lotus season three, offering 40 acres of five-star luxury, 856 coconut trees, and a battalion of decorative monkey statues – perfect for Mike White’s signature mix of excess and unease. The hillside villas, including the Ratliffs’ sprawling private residence, provide sweeping Gulf of Thailand views and, according to Jason Isaacs, a “gilded cage” filming experience. The show makes full use of the resort’s pools, palm-lined paths, and signature water hammocks while meals play out at Koh Thai Kitchen – except dinner, which was shot at the Rosewood Phuket’s Ta Khai restaurant.

The Singing Bird Lounge at Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort

Situated on a secluded stretch of private beach in Chaweng, Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort is home to one of the most distinctive settings in The White Lotus season three – the resort’s Singing Bird Lounge, a treehouse-style bar tucked within the branches of a 120-year-old tree. Announced as a key filming location for the bar scene, the lounge offers panoramic ocean views and draws inspiration from the island’s famous bird-singing contests – a tradition that attracts thousands of spectators.

Villa Jacinta Koh Samui

Villa Jacinta Koh Samui

Villa Jacinta was also used during the filming of The White Lotus season three – a jaw-slackening villa on the island of Koh Samui, just off the country's east coast. The villa, which sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms, perches atop one of the highest points of the Samujana estate with sleek, glass-abundant interiors that make it the perfect backdrop for The White Lotus. While the details about which scenes have been filmed here are yet to be disclosed, we know it served as a distinct filming location from the resort. Dastardly Gary '(AKA Greg from season one) and Chloe’s private home? Watch this space.
