This season’s biting black comedy skewers the problematic aspects of luxury travel (with a sprinkling of, er, incest), featuring a throng of characters you find yourself despising and then… weirdly rooting for. The Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui serves as the primary setting for The White Lotus season three, offering 40 acres of five-star luxury, 856 coconut trees, and a battalion of decorative monkey statues – perfect for Mike White’s signature mix of excess and unease. The hillside villas, including the Ratliffs’ sprawling private residence, provide sweeping Gulf of Thailand views and, according to Jason Isaacs, a “gilded cage” filming experience. The show makes full use of the resort’s pools, palm-lined paths, and signature water hammocks while meals play out at Koh Thai Kitchen – except dinner, which was shot at the Rosewood Phuket’s Ta Khai restaurant.

Villa Jacinta was also used during the filming of The White Lotus season three – a jaw-slackening villa on the island of Koh Samui, just off the country's east coast. The villa, which sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms, perches atop one of the highest points of the Samujana estate with sleek, glass-abundant interiors that make it the perfect backdrop for The White Lotus. While the details about which scenes have been filmed here are yet to be disclosed, we know it served as a distinct filming location from the resort.
