The festival

Oooooooh Canada! America's older, more sensible, yet still fun sibling brings you a shed load of entertainment. With venues including the Bovine sex club, Cherry Cola's Rock n Roll Cabaret and the pasta-esque Rivoli, what more reason do you need to go? Well, if you do need one, there's shed loads to do, and Toronto is lovely as well. CMW showcases over 1,000 bands at 60 live music venues across the city. 

Our tip

Due to its size and breadth, CMW includes a conference with celebrity interviews and figures from the advertising, gaming, film and TV industries, so make sure to have at least one detour from the musical side of things.

Getting there

How do I get there?

By car (from Toronto International Airport):

Follow Hwy 401 East to Hwy 427 South. Take Hwy 427 South and follow signs for Hwy QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way). The QEW turns into the Gardiner Expressway. Once on the Gardiner Expressway watch for York St. exit. Take York St. exit ramp (stay on the left hand side of the ramp) and follow York St. until it ends at Queen St. Turn right onto Queen St. and you will see the Motor Court entrance immediately on the right hand side.

By airport shuttle: Transportation from Pearson International Airport runs every 30 minutes from 05:20 – 00:50. Service from the Sheraton Centre Hotel to the airport runs every 30 minutes between 04:40 -23:10. Tickets can be purchased from the hotel’s tour desk or with the driver. Pickup is located on the Richmond Street side of the hotel’s parking facility. 

By bus: Check out times at Metro Toronto Coach Terminal.

By subway: Check out times at Osgoode Subway Station.

By train: Check out times at Union Station / Via Rail / GO Transit.
