Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show, the UK's leading travel exhibition, returns to Olympia London from 31 January–3 February 2019 for its biggest event to date, with a whole host of new exhibitors, experiences and expert speakers ready to whet your appetite for adventure.

This year sees the show launch its first ever dedicated authentic travel section, 'Destinations Discovery', and each area of the show is set to provide visitors with limitless inspiration for their travels in 2019 and beyond.

With more than 600 brands and over 70 global tourist boards present, an array of travel experts from leading tour operators and travel companies will be on hand to provide visitors with in-depth knowledge and expert advice. New exhibitors for 2019 include: South African Tourism, Visit Asia, Travelbag, Polar Routes, Visit Florida and Celebrity Cruises.

1. Explore the new Destinations Discovery section for inspirational authentic travel experiences

In partnership with Escapism, the show will launch its new Destinations Discovery section for 2019 on the first floor of Olympia London. Focusing on authentic travel experiences, visitors will learn about off-the-beaten track activity and adventure tours. From jungle trekking or diving to embracing new cultures through local experiences, Destinations Discovery is where you'll get to meet the insiders who will make your travel dreams a reality. Exhibitors include: Earthbound Exhibitions, Busanga Safaris, Italy on a Budget Tours and Ulungele Tours.

2. Listen to your favourite writers and explorers at Stanfords Travel Writers Festival

Visit Stanfords Travel Writers Festival to hear your favourite travel writers, TV personalities and explorers recount tales from some of their most notable adventures and expeditions. With a stellar line-up of acclaimed speakers like Levison Wood, Kate Humble, Nicholas Crane and Sir Don McCullin, this year's Stanford Travel Writers Festival should not be missed. Entrance to the festival is included in your Destinations ticket.

3. Learn how to capture the perfect travel photo during a Travel Photography Masterclass

Led by professional photographers Steve Davey and Jamie Marshall, visitors of the show can discover how to capture those breath-taking views and memorable travel moments in dedicated two-hour Travel Photography Masterclasses. From an introduction to photography to shooting travel portraits, you'll learn invaluable tips and techniques from Steve to ensure your holiday photos are of the highest quality. Jamie will be hosting a session entitled 'Making Travel Photography Pay' to teach visitors how photography can become more than just a hobby. Classes are small and subject to availability, and are priced from £30 which includes entry to the show.

4. Visit the Meet the Experts Theatres for 2019 travel inspiration

Every year, Destinations plays host to an impressive selection of travel speakers. At the 2019 show, the Meet the Expert Theatres will treat guests to 50 hours of free fascinating and diverse talks. Speaker sessions will include learning about how overlanding gets you into areas other tours cannot reach, going off the beaten track in Patagonia, following in the footsteps of Michael Palin in North Korea and authentic experiences in South Africa. Explorer Benedict Allen and presenter Kate Humble will be sharing anecdotes from their experiences in Papua New Guinea.

5. Sample a variety of international cuisines at the Taste the World Stage

Visitors can get a taste for unusual international delicacies with free world food and drink samples at the Taste the World Stage, enjoy the spectacle of cultural performances and get involved with interactive displays. Here you will discover the essence of new cultures and a whole host of new destinations to add to your ever-growing 'must visit' list.

The show's official charity, Habitat for Humanity, is one of the world's largest housing charities. They will be informing and inspiring people to volunteer and support a range of home building and community projects to make a real, tangible difference. Talking about their volunteering abroad programmes, they'll be advising on the best way for people to support local communities when travelling.

7. Ensure you stay healthy when travelling abroad at the MASTA Travel Health Zone

MASTA (Medical Advisory Service for Travellers Abroad) will be returning to the Destinations Show in 2019 to keep travellers informed about health risks abroad. The MASTA Travel Health Zone will be led by television doctor, Dr James Logan and a team of expert nurses who will be able to advise on any holiday health concerns. You will receive a free Travel Health Brief providing the very latest information on any health risks in the countries you are visiting, plus details of all vaccines and antimalarials required.
