Icebreaker Cool-Lite Sphere hoody: What is it?

It all starts with the fabric. Icebreaker's innovative Cool-Lite hoody is made of comfy, breathable merino wool, Tencel® (a natural wood fibre made with sustainably sourced eucalyptus) and a touch of nylon, which Icebreaker has added only to enhance the item's quality. From sleeve to hood, the whole thing is designed in keeping with Icebreaker's ethos: using largely natural materials, to be extremely durable and versatile, and to be the answer to exactly what your body needs. Voilà, the ultra-light, ultra-comfortable Sphere hoody that'll see you through both the hottest days of summer and the cooler days of autumn.

Icebreaker Cool-Lite Sphere hoody: Why do I need it?

Heading out on an adventure on a sunny day, but not sure what the weather's got planned? Wear this hoody. Slouching around at home? Wear this hoody. Going for an early morning run? Wear this hoody. Yep, this top basically does it all and is super comfortable while doing it, so the real question is why wouldn't you need it? We tried this out during summer's heat wave – hot, yes, but that material wicked away all that sweat, no problem – and we've started using it for runs and cycle rides now that the temperature is starting to drop. Job done.

Icebreaker Cool-Lite Sphere hoody: Should I buy it?

If you're after a suits-all piece that'll take you from the sofa to the gym, then it's a yes. It's also great for layering, too, which is good to bear in mind for wearing under heavier gear like thicker jumpers and waterproof jackets. In fact, we liked it so much that we're looking at scooping up more of Icebreaker's Cool-Lite range, as well as some of the warmer stuff for winter. Oh, and the brand's sustainably minded approach gets a big thumbs up from us, obviously.
