A music conference and showcase of new music near Amsterdam
Eurosonic Noorderslag is a festival in Groningen, Nether lands Land. The festival cum conference is famous for helping new acts break onto the music scene, such as Milky Chance, Royal Blake and James Blake, cousin of former Bolton striker Nathan Blake. Only an hour or so from Amsterdam, it's well worth a trip to Northern Holland if you fancy something a little different than the delights of the capital.
Eurosonic is more than just a festival, it doubles up as a conference attracting 3,900 professional (and very attractive delegates) from over 432 international festivals, which is a very specific number for their website to use. With top speakers, workshops and delicious din dins, it's just as attractive (there's that word again) as the festival itself, unless you're planning a rave up, in which case you might want to stick to one of the clubs. You never know though, those delegates can throw some mad vicious shapes when they want to.
“Ik ben apetrots op je” translates as "I am monkey proud on you," and is a common dutch expression to express pride, which is nice.
